Description
Rome, Italy. Saint Peter's nave with the bronze baldachin over the papal altar. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, realized between 1624 and 1633 with the collaboration of various artists among whom Duquesnoy, Giuliano Finelli and Francesco Borromini. The baldachin leaves an open view over the "Cattedra di San Pietro" (Cathedra Petri, St Peter's chair) on the apse.
