Description
Rome, Italy. Stele a Guglielmo Marconi, by Arturo Dazzi, the construction of which begun in 1939 and ended only in 1959. It is composed by 92 blocks of Carrara Marble with high-reliefs (alto-rilievo) celebrating the invention of the radio. The "stele Marconi" is generally better known as "Obelisco dell'EUR" (EUR Obelisk). Behind it the building Palazzo delle Scienze, by Luigi Brusa, Gino Cancellotti, Eugenio Montuori and Alfredo Scalpelli, 1939 - 1943, which hosts two museums, the Museo nazionale preistorico-etnografico Luigi Pigorini and the Museo dell'Alto Medioevo.
