Rome, Italy. Detail of the Fontana del Nettuno in the northern part of Piazza Navona. The basin was built by Giacomo Della Porta in 1576, the fountain was known with the name "Fontana dei Calderari". In 1878 the fountain received the sculptures: "Nettuno lotta con una piovra" (Neptune struggling with an octopus, not showed) by Antonio Della Bitta and "Nereidi, putti e cavalli marini" (Nereids, puttos and seahorses) by Gregorio Zappalà. The fountain is a match to the fontana del Moro on the other side of the square.

Roman, born 1966, photographer by vocation, I received my long-desired first camera when I was 7 years old, a Kodak Instamatic 36, and since then photography is one of my main interests in life. I work mainly in colour, using both digital and film, and develop my colour films by myself with a Jobo CPP-2 rotary processor. My main subjects of interest are urban landscape and sculpture, photographed with an explicitly descriptive attitude. My photographs have also been published in travel guides, newspapers and text books all over the world, from the US and Brazil to Japan.
